  Examinations

Certifying Examination 2008 and CDQ Examination 2008 will be administered on Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Prometric testing centers throughout the United States.

The National Board of Medical Examiners mailed examination scheduling permits to all eligible candidates on March 1, 2008.  If a candidate has not received a scheduling permit, then he/she should contact NCCAA, providing a complete, up-to-date mailing address, so that a duplicate scheduling permit can be mailed to the candidate.

Late applications for CDQ Examination 2008 have been mailed to eligible practitioners using the address that NCCAA had on file for each practitioner.

It is critically important that NCCAA have every applicant's and every practitioner's current mailing address on file.  Please see the Mailing Addresses section below.

  Uniform Certification Date

At its July 2007 meeting, the National Commission established a uniform certification date of June 1st for all practitioners.  NCCAA will use the June 1st date in all verifications of certification, in all communications and publications, and on the NCCAA web site.  New certificates with the June 1st date have been mailed to all certified practitioners.

Continuing Medical Education

The new, uniform CME registration deadline is June 1st.  All CME registration materials and complete payment of the CME registration fee must be received and processed by NCCAA on or before June 1st in order for a practitioner to be listed as certified on June 2nd.  NCCAA advises practitioners to submit their materials and payments well before the June 1st deadline in order to assure processing before their certification expires.   Practitioners must maintain current CME registration for every two-year registration period.  The CME grace period has been eliminated.  Reinstatement of certification has been eliminated. Practitioners who are not currently certified should contact NCCAA as soon as possible to resolve their certification status.  CME audits for 2007 have been completed.  The next CME audit period begins in June 2008.  Complete information is included on the new CME Submission Form which is available on the Downloads page.

Mailing Addresses for Practitioners and Examination Applicants

NCCAA uses the US mail to keep practitioners informed about their certification, CME registration, CDQ  Examinations, and other important matters.  NCCAA also uses the US mail for all communications with Certifying Examination applicants.  NCCAA maintains one mailing address on file for each practitioner and each examination applicant.

NCCAA rules and regulations require that certified anesthesiologist assistant practitioners and candidates for examination notify NCCAA of any change in their mailing address.  This  requirement is the sole responsibility of the examination candidates and AA-C practitioners.

Mail sent to the addresses on record for the following individuals has been returned by the US Postal Service as undeliverable:

Denise Bombelli
Donna Anna-Maria Greene
Jeffrey G. Hess
Michael D. Hickey
Jared Kutzer
Paige Bagley McGrath
Angelique C. Scott

If you are in the above list, please contact NCCAA immediately to update your mailing address.  If you know someone in the above list, please have that person contact NCCAA as soon as possible to update their mailing address.

Correspondence with NCCAA

The NCCAA Business Office replies to correspondence within 10 business days of receipt of correspondence.  Since email, fax transmission, and the US Postal Service are not 100 percent reliable, if you have not received a reply to your email, fax, or letter within two weeks of its transmission, please contact NCCAA about your original communication.
